This role supports fleet reliability improvements for Delta Air Lines by investigating issues, developing solutions, and coordinating with partners and OEMs. The Lead Reliability Engineer will monitor fleet performance, identify improvement opportunities, and provide aircraft engineering support to internal customers.
Responsibilities
- Support fleet reliability improvements by participating in reliability review investigations and developing innovative solutions.
- Communicate fleet initiatives with internal partners and executive leaders.
- Monitor the fleet through various tools and reports.
- Identify fleet improvement opportunities and coordinate with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).
- Perform station visits to solicit feedback from the front line.
- Provide aircraft engineering support to internal customers and outside suppliers.
- Responsible for operational reliability on specific Boeing fleets (B717, B737, B757, B767).
- Review and reduce large amounts of data for presentation to divisional leadership to drive decisions.
- Promote process, technology, and business solutions that assist in implementing change.
Requirements
- Understanding key aircraft ATA Chapters including ATA 21, 27, 29, 36, 38 on specified Boeing fleets
- Experience using and building tools in Palantir Foundry or Airbus Skywise for data analysis
- Familiarity with airline flight operations and support systems, 14 CFR Part 25, 121, and 145 regulations
- Interaction with aircraft and component original equipment manufacturers (OEMs)
- Experience using and developing tools in Smartsheet for employee workload management
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related field
- 3 years of experience in aircraft mechanical/operational reliability, or 5 years in aircraft mechanical/operational reliability in the alternative.
