The Lead Process Engineer will research, analyze, and recommend improvements to distribution center business processes to enhance safety, increase productivity, and reduce costs. This role drives the implementation of process innovations and ensures sustained results.
Responsibilities
- Researches, analyzes, and recommends improvements to business processes that improve distribution center performance
- Executes improvement initiatives that focus on enhanced safety, increased productivity, and reduced cost
- Drives the implementation and adoption of process innovations across the distribution network
- Develops and maintains labor standards, labor management system configuration, and distribution center reporting
- Performs data collection and analyses for process mapping, budget development, and cost to determine project feasibility
- Develops project plans, communicates business process changes, and manages project priorities to meet schedules and budgets
- Ensures process controls are defined, implemented, and monitored to sustain results
- Determines the root cause of performance defects through data analysis, data decomposition, and process observation
- Collaborates with business partners across functional areas in support of supply chain initiatives
Requirements
- 8+ years of related experience (or 5+ with MS/MA)
- Engineering degree in a related field
- Strong supply chain process engineering experience
- Proficiency with SAP WMS
- Advanced Excel skills
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives within warehouse, logistics, and distribution environments
- Proficiency in Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies
- Demonstrated success managing complex improvement projects and influencing stakeholders
- Ability to identify operational inefficiencies, conduct root-cause analysis, and implement sustainable solutions
Qualifications
- BS/BA in a related discipline or MS/MA in a related field
- 8+ years of experience in a related field, or 5+ years with an MS/MA, with strong supply chain process engineering experience
