About This Role

The Lead Housekeeper assists the Housekeeping Manager and supervisor in maintaining high-quality cleanliness and laundry services throughout the community. This role ensures staff follow schedules, supervises daily housekeeping and laundry operations, and conducts inspections. The position also focuses on fostering a team-oriented environment that upholds a high standard of service and resident well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain housekeeping work orders in Worxhubs
  • Ensure all housekeeping schedules are completed
  • Provide feedback to the Manager on departmental issues, resident/staff concerns, and employees’ performance
  • Perform day-to-day housekeeping functions as assigned
  • Ensure all setups and take-downs are completed
  • Respond to any calls for housekeeping requests or emergencies
  • Assure assigned work areas are maintained in a safe and clean manner and train staff on cleaning procedures and safe chemical handling
  • Assure established infection control and universal precautions practices are maintained, as needed when performing housekeeping procedures
  • Report all hazardous conditions or equipment to the Manager
  • Demonstrate behaviors consistent with Presbyterian Homes Corporate Compliance policies regarding confidentiality and security of information

Requirements

  • One to three years of experience in housekeeping and laundry functions
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Ability to supervise and motivate a team effectively
  • Ability to read and write English
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness standards

Qualifications

  • One to three years of experience in housekeeping and laundry functions; experience in a retirement community or healthcare setting is preferred.

  • Experience in a retirement community or healthcare setting
  • Bilingual skills
