About This Role

This role will promote a hereditary cancer test and precision oncology products within existing and new accounts, focusing on sales objectives, strategic planning, and building strong client relationships in the Northeast Region.

Responsibilities

  • Meet or exceed sales objectives in an assigned geographic area through field-based call activity and meetings with customers.
  • Manage and implement elevated territory planning.
  • Understand competitors and market trends impacting product utilization.
  • Sell company products or services, developing new accounts and/or expanding existing accounts.
  • Develop and implement strategic tactical plans to maximize product utilization within budget.
  • Plan and prioritize sales activities and client contacts to achieve business goals.
  • Analyze client needs and create sales tools that foster engagement.
  • Build and maintain relationships with present and potential clients.
  • Generate revenue through forecasting, lead generation, qualification, and closing sales.
  • Monitor competition by gathering marketplace information on pricing, products, and merchandising techniques.
  • Update and track client information and correspondence within territory in Veeva CRM.
  • Participate in company sponsored trade shows, national genetic conferences, and professional conferences.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hereditary cancer genetics experience
  • Strong record of success selling/promoting complex products in medical oncology, genetic counselors, and/or diagnostics
  • 1+ years promoting healthcare products partnering with commercial sales teams
  • Existing relationships with Genetic Counselors and providers who focus on hereditary cancer testing
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Effective prospecting skills
  • Effective negotiation skills
  • Professional presentation skills
  • Knowledge of genetic testing or clinical genetics
  • Proficient computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Software
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Business Management, Marketing, Science, or related field or 4 years relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • 5+ years of hereditary cancer genetics experience with a strong record of success selling/promoting complex products in medical oncology, genetic counselors, and/or diagnostics or similar experience in selling/promoting complex healthcare products. 1+ year promoting healthcare products partnering with commercial sales teams.

Nice to Have

  • 1+ year direct sales experience in healthcare space
  • Working knowledge of CRM applications, Veeva
