About This Role

This role involves managing electrical design teams, creating world-class designs for utility installations and microgrid projects, and developing innovative solutions for clients in the energy industry. The successful candidate will leverage their expertise to help decarbonize and secure the energy future.

Responsibilities

  • Manage electrical design of projects from conceptual phase through design completion
  • Apply expert knowledge of electrical concepts, practices, codes, and procedures
  • Apply expert knowledge and experience to complex projects to find non-standard design solutions
  • Quality review production drawings for corrections within CAD software
  • Quality review construction administration, including coordination with field personnel to resolve design-related installation issues, calculations, field inspections, and testing of electrical systems
  • Manage field inspections, measurements, or calculations for public and private clients
  • Prepare and present technical reports for clients and industry publications
  • Build effective relationships with existing clients and develop new business opportunities
  • Manage sales and marketing efforts and identify key pursuits
  • Manage the development of cost proposals and qualification statements
  • Quality review and approve project budgets and cost estimates, reporting project performance
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and instruction to the electrical engineering practice
  • Responsible for QA/QC process adherence and process improvement
  • Responsible for compliance with company and site safety policies

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program and 13 years electrical engineering experience OR Bachelor Degree in Electrical or related Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program, successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, and 13 years electrical engineering experience OR Master Degree in Electrical Engineering and 12 years electrical engineering experience
  • Expert knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures
  • Strong knowledge of electrical equipment design ANSI and IEEE Standards
  • Strong computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with leading the discipline design for large projects and delegating work tasks to team members
  • Ability to lead execution of work and resolve issues in a team environment
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills, ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment
  • Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to perform quality reviews for detailed engineering documents and specifications
  • Ability to travel

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program, or Master Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 12 years electrical engineering experience with a Master's degree, or 13 years with a Bachelor's degree. EPC project experience preferred.
