Large Commercial Builder's Risk Underwriter

About This Role

The Large Commercial Builder's Risk underwriter will be responsible for sourcing, underwriting, and maintaining a profitable portfolio of complex builder's risk policies (ISO Class 1-6) in the United States. This role involves technical risk assessment, pricing, and managing natural catastrophe accumulation for new and renewal risks.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a profitable portfolio, proactively optimizing it and managing aggregations.
• Develop unique solutions for clients while protecting the company's bottom line.
• Communicate, market, and negotiate daily with approved clients and broker contacts.
• Examine, identify, and evaluate exposures by analyzing documentation from various sources like insurance applications, project plans, and natural catastrophe models.
• Coordinate Loss Prevention/Risk Engineering services internally and with vendor partners.
• Underwrite and evaluate Natural Catastrophe Accumulation, understanding catastrophe modeling and scenario interpretation on a per risk and portfolio basis.
• Play a key role in working with pricing system and technical teams to maximize profitability.
• Ensure compliance with all internal and external guidelines and legal requirements.
