Landscaper / Maintenance Technician

About This Role

This role is responsible for general maintenance tasks, cleaning, and landscaping for the overnight camp and day camp facilities. The position requires experience in small engine repair, tree maintenance, and garden care.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the day-to-day maintenance and year-round upkeep of the overnight camp and day camp, and the Spruce Run Outpost if called upon
• Identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to camp maintenance
• Dig, lift, load, and unload a minimum of 50 lbs
• Become familiar with the organization's Risk Management and Hazmat Manual
• Utilize working knowledge of landscaping equipment and tools
• Support work related to demolition, framing, carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, cleaning, and landscaping trades and services
• Move impediments at the job site productively and safely to prepare for work
• Clean the work area and account for all tools and equipment

Requirements

• Minimum of High School Diploma
• 5-7 years of experience
• Experience and competence in operation and repair of grounds equipment
• Proven experience as a landscaper or laborer in property management
• Proficiency in landscaping skills such as mowing, trimming, plowing, leaf removal and small engine/equipment repair
• Familiarity with safety protocols
• Ability to utilize and work off extension ladder
• Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
• Ability to drive enclosed trailers/dump trailers
• Strong attention to detail and quality craftsmanship
• Excellent communication skills
• Valid driver's license
• Clear Background check and Child Abuse Clearance

Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• 5-7 years of experience in landscaping or laborer in property management
