This Land Transactions Associate position supports complex real estate transactions to achieve lasting conservation outcomes for the Peninsula Open Space Trust (POST). The role involves hands-on support for due diligence and closing phases, ensuring compliance with best practices, and coordinating across internal and external teams.
Responsibilities
- Act as lead liaison on transaction closings, coordinating internal teams and external title/escrow companies
- Prepare escrow instructions, review and complete closing documents, and coordinate signatures and delivery of documents under project manager direction
- Act as lead liaison for internal coordination meetings for due diligence and drafting related memos/documents and contract notices
- Support successful acquisition activities, including due diligence contracting, investigations, logistical support for site visits, and escrow setup
- Support post-acquisition activities such as transitioning property administration to the Stewardship team
- Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and functionality of Land Department’s Salesforce-based platforms for property records and project management
- Provide ongoing orientation/training, support, and maintenance for Salesforce-based tools by the Transactions team
- Maintain and update the Transactions team’s Escrow & Closing Resource Guide and provide orientation
- Collaborate with the Land Administrative Assistant to ensure project and records compliance with department standards
- Support tracking of capital budget cashflow related to transactions and grant funding with Finance and Development teams
Requirements
- 2+ years experience in a real property-related business (escrow/title, real estate law, nonprofit land trust, or public agency)
- Growth mindset and experience managing projects and collaborating in teams
- Experience building relationships for long-term business goals
- Effective communication (writing, speaking, presentation, listening) and detail-oriented skills
- Self-motivated, creative problem-solver comfortable asking for help
- Ability to work effectively using Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications
- Knowledge of or experience in natural resources
- Insurable driving record
Qualifications
- College degree in a relevant field of study, or equivalent and relevant work experience and/or certifications
- 2+ years of relevant work experience in a real property-related business (e.g., escrow/title, real estate law, land trust, or public agency)

- Knowledge of land trust practices and conservation easements
