Lab Analyst

About This Role

Perform laboratory analyses of water and wastewater samples to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local standards. Manage the laboratory's quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) program and safety protocols, contributing to the overall safety of the water supply.

Responsibilities

• Analyze water and wastewater samples as needed
• Maintain the laboratory QA/QC program
• Prepare sample analysis reports
• Log results of all samples tested into Excel spreadsheets and the State’s ESE program
• Analyze industrial wastewater samples and report results
• Manage the laboratory safety program
• Conduct tests of routine, complaint, and customer requested water samples

Requirements

• Knowledge of standard laboratory principles, techniques, terminology, equipment and materials
• Knowledge of mathematics, basic chemistry, and biology
• Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes
• Skill in performing standard mathematical calculations (ratios, unit conversions, percentages)
• Computer skills & experience with Excel, Word, PowerPoint and State’s ESE program
• Experience in operating lab equipment
• Ability to obtain GA wastewater lab analyst license
• Ability to obtain GA water lab analyst license
• Valid Georgia driver’s license
• HS Diploma
