L1 Server Repair Technician

About This Role

The Server Repair Tech will be responsible for testing, troubleshooting, and replacing parts on servers sent to SMS for diagnosis and repair. This role involves collaborating with various teams to maintain efficient repair operations.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, and diagnose servers
• Replace parts as needed
• Conduct and analyze server stress tests
• Document all symptoms, test results, and parts replaced in the shop floor tool
• Collaborate with motherboard repair, motherboard testing, QC, and inspections personnel
• Provide back up for QC, inspection, and motherboard testing
• Maintain parts consumption
• Maintain and nurture a positive work environment
• Work and collaborate with other teams such as warehouse, shipping, and receiving
• Follow process for system and parts managements

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic server architecture knowledge
• Ability to assemble components to make a server functional
• Ability to run and understand testing diagnostics
• Understanding of basic networking architecture
• Understanding of basic error codes
• Ability to troubleshoot common server errors and issues
• Ability to read and write English
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prefer to have 1-year experience in a Repair Depot. Prefer to have worked in a low production PC type environment.

Nice to Have

• 1 year experience in Repair Depot
• Experience in a low production PC type environment
• Working knowledge of different models such as ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Toshiba, Apple, and Acer
