This role involves assessing and diagnosing the current business environment within assigned accounts in relation to Amgen Cardiovascular products, and planning/executing actions for success. The ideal candidate will develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support portfolio performance and brand strategies.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute innovative strategies to reach difficult to access health care providers and accounts in a compliant manner
- Maintain comprehensive account profile, needs assessment, and strategic plan
- Routinely meet with appropriate opinion leaders in Cardiology, Lipidology, Pharmacy, P&T Committee for Amgen
- Present MAC approved data and CV product messaging, delivering clinical messages compliantly
- Ensure formulary adoption in targeted hospital accounts to drive appropriate utilization of approved CV products
- Monitor Amgen business performance across Cardiovascular portfolio
- Identify drivers/barriers and coordinate pull-through initiatives across field teams
- Coordinate Amgen home office engagement with customers and arrange approved promotional programs
- Build and develop professional relationships with key customer decision-makers within assigned accounts
- Provide actionable field intelligence and recommendations to Amgen home office and CV brand teams
Requirements
- 2+ years of sales experience and/or related account management experience with a doctorate degree
- 4+ years of sales experience and/or related account management experience with a master's degree
- 6+ years of sales experience and/or related account management experience with a bachelor's degree
- Ability to understand and identify key staff and departments that influence decision-making for biopharmaceutical product utilization within key accounts
- Ability to analyze, interpret and draw insights from clinic economics/financial performance and varying data sources
- Excellent interpersonal skills including networking, influencing, negotiation, presentation, and written/verbal communication
Qualifications
- Doctorate degree, Master's degree, or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
- 2+ years of sales and/or related account management experience for Doctorate, 4+ years for Master's, 6+ years for Bachelor's.
Nice to Have
- 3+ years of account management and/or public payor experience
- Advanced degree (e.g. MPH, MBA, PharmD, etc.) and 7+ years of healthcare sales and/or marketing experience
- Experience in clinic, hospital, dyslipidemia, heart failure, access environment
- Cardiology experience, including dyslipidemia, heart failure and acute coronary syndromes
- Solid understanding of current environment and trends in community cardiology practices
- Understanding of internal and external dynamics in dyslipidemia and heart failure
- District Management Experience
- Reimbursement / managed care experience
- Experience in public payor / agency activities, including understanding of Local Coverage Determination Processes (LCD)
- Knowledge of hospital committee structure, P&T process, treatment and discharge protocols, DRG and hospital reimbursement process
- Functional knowledge of Medicare and Government agencies
- Knowledge of payor systems, billing, coding and reimbursement processes
- Knowledge of CMS policies and processes
