About This Role

This role involves direct supervision and care for youth in a community-based halfway house facility, ensuring their safety and security. The Juvenile Correctional Officer helps youth learn to manage reactions to stress and trauma, promoting socially appropriate behaviors and personal development.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision and care for youth in a community-based halfway house facility
  • Ensure the safety and security of youth, staff, and the public
  • Help youth identify and manage reactions to stress and trauma
  • Use appropriate intervention methods for behavioral issues to aid in learning and correcting behavior
  • Implement security measures when youth, staff, or others are in danger
  • Interact and engage with youth to maintain structure and understand brain development in trauma-affected youth
  • Maintain healthy relationships and boundaries with youth, recognizing their progress
  • Facilitate youth rehabilitation and coach personal development according to treatment plans
  • Monitor facility maintenance, cleanliness, sanitation, and youth hygiene
  • Monitor compliance with applicable policies and procedures and complete required forms

Requirements

  • Ability to pass a Criminal Background Check
