About This Role

As a Junior Program Analyst, you will support the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) at the Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Division by ensuring the accuracy of processing and research related to firearms and explosives eligibility.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure accuracy of all processing and research according to federally published guidelines
  • Conduct research on explosives permit checks and analyze information for validity
  • Research and analyze criminal backgrounds for Firearm Transactions and Explosives Permits
  • Report point-of-contact changes to appropriate personnel
  • Communicate with law enforcement agencies via fax, email, or phone and document communications
  • Evaluate existing procedures and provide recommended actions or solutions
  • Complete necessary document clean-up of existing records to update and/or purge documentation

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or 2 years of relevant experience
  • Attention to detail
  • Oral communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and Google Chrome
  • Active Secret Security Clearance

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or a minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience if no Bachelor's degree
