Lead and coordinate the Summer 2026 Morro Bay Junior Lifeguard Program, organizing instructors to educate children aged 9-14 on ocean safety and recreational activities. Oversee a safe environment and ensure a positive experience for all participants.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the Summer 2026 Morro Bay Junior Lifeguard Program
- Organize instructors and aides for the program
- Inspire kids aged 9-14 as they learn about ocean recreational opportunities and hazards
- Supervise instructors in teaching Junior Guards water safety, confidence, and competence in the water
- Oversee a safe environment for participants
- Understand and enforce program rules
- Maintain control of participants
- Help facilitate a positive experience for youth participating in programs
- Follow all policies and procedures set forth by Morro Bay Recreation Services
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age
- Valid driver's license for emergency vehicles
- High School Diploma
- Knowledge of Junior Guard programs
- Competency in working with children ages 9-14
- Current USLA Qualification
- Current Title 22 First Aid/CPR Qualifications
