Junior Events Specialist

About This Role

This role involves developing and executing a long-term event strategy for Canonical, a software company focused on open-source solutions. The specialist will manage various B2B events across EMEA and the Americas, collaborating closely with multiple internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop a long-term event strategy
• Execute various events across EMEA and the Americas
• Collaborate closely with regional sales, partner & alliances, product marketing, and design teams
• Maintain a list of events Canonical should participate in based on research and team input
• Set relevant KPIs to measure individual event effectiveness and justify spend
• Source the best possible deals to maximize visibility and minimize costs
• Provide full logistical support to all events globally, with occasional travel to major events
• Be responsible for event budget planning and execution, constantly monitoring and adjusting it accordingly
• Create systems to measurably improve event effectiveness over time

Requirements

• Experience in B2B event organization (trade shows, customer events, webinars, etc.)
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Marketing, or STEM
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills in English
• Hands-on mindset and a passion for experimentation
• Growth mindset, enthusiasm for challenges, and a strong work ethic with a “can do” attitude
• Objectivity and openness to others’ views while continuously building a positive team spirit
• Proven ability to prioritize and meet deadlines without sacrificing quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Marketing, or STEM
• Experience in B2B event organization (trade shows, customer events, webinars, etc.)
