John Deere Diesel Technician - Advanced

About This Role

Independently perform advanced diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance on agricultural equipment, and mentor junior technicians.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced diagnostics and repairs on agricultural equipment and Ag Management Solutions (AMS) products
• Participate in Service EDUCATE Training programs for skill and knowledge development
• Mentor Service Technician Trainees
• Conduct or support customer clinics
• Maintain current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products
• Maintain condition of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment
• Maintain a clean work area and perform work in a neat and orderly fashion
• Follow all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
• Complete all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments
• Account for all time and all material used in performing assigned duties

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience performing service repairs
• Ability to perform advanced repairs and maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures
• Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems in agricultural and turf equipment
• Excellent skills in operating vehicles and equipment for diagnostic purposes
• Ability to use Service Advisor and basic computer functions
• Ability to retain positive relationships with customers and co-workers
• High School Diploma or equivalent experience
• Valid driver’s license

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience required; Associates degree preferred
• 5+ years of experience performing service repairs

Nice to Have

• Advanced Diesel Service Technician education
• Forklift experience and license
