IT Infrastructure Engineer

About This Role

The IT Infrastructure Engineer will independently and collaboratively design, maintain, support, and monitor the IT infrastructure for Encore Electric's offices and job sites. This role is crucial for ensuring the availability, security, and performance of corporate data and voice infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Maintain open communication lines with all working relationships
• Architect, supervise, and participate in the implementation of technologies and platforms supporting data, security, and voice infrastructure
• Ensure availability of enterprise infrastructure that supports internal employee business functions and external customer communications
• Troubleshoot and remediate 3rd and 4th level support issues impacting the operation of the corporate data and voice infrastructure
• Mentor other team members
• Serve as one of the primary points of contact for service providers and coordinate circuit design, provisioning, installation, and troubleshooting
• Document the design, operation, and troubleshooting of technology platforms and procedures
• Plan, design, implement, and continuously improve disaster recovery procedures
• Monitor systems and identify performance issues proactively
• Propose new IT services and solutions to end users and senior management team

Requirements

• Degree in IT, MIS, or related field OR 4+ years of IT Systems Administration experience
• Microsoft Windows server and desktop operating systems knowledge
• Microsoft Active Directory knowledge
• Azure Active Directory knowledge
• Microsoft Exchange Admin Center knowledge
• VMware ESXi and other virtualization technologies knowledge
• Fortinet firewalls and security products knowledge
• Networking hardware (switches, routers, WAPs) skills
• Networking protocols skills
• VPN setup and management skills
• SAN management skills
• Expertise across Microsoft Infrastructure Technologies (Windows OS, Active Directory, Azure, Collaborative Communications)
• Expertise in writing Windows Power Shell scripts for automation or maintenance
• Expertise in Active Directory Domain Services including Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Sites & Services
• Experience managing Microsoft Office 365 back-end infrastructure (Exchange Admin Center, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive for Business)
• Ability to work independently and make decisions based on organizational needs

Qualifications

• A degree in IT, MIS, or a related field, or 4+ years of IT Systems Administration experience
• 4+ years of IT Systems Administration experience
