About This Role

This IT Cybersecurity Specialist (Network/Infosec) position involves applying comprehensive knowledge of IT networking management and operating concepts to ensure communication availability and accessibility within the DISA J9(HAC)/HYBRID CLOUD SOLUTIONS DIVISION.

Responsibilities

  • Apply comprehensive knowledge and skill in applying IT networking management and operating concepts to establish and maintain constant communications availability and accessibility
  • Utilize in-depth knowledge of network management capabilities, theory, operations concepts, and requirements identification and analysis to troubleshoot complex network problems and outages
  • Apply comprehensive knowledge of network systems and state-of-the-art communications equipment and interfaces, as well as protocols, standards, and network capabilities
  • Use initiative to deviate from established procedures, develop new methods, identify and research trends, and/or propose new policies or procedures

Requirements

  • US Citizenship
  • Must register or be exempt from Selective Service (males born after 12-31-59)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
  • Ability to complete Foundational Qualifications within 9 months and Residential Qualification requirements within 12 months (DoD 8140 policy series)
  • Experience reviewing own and others' IT-related work for accuracy, completeness, and consistency
  • Experience maintaining customer relationships and developing IT solutions tailored to customer needs
  • Experience briefing mid-level management and IT staff on IT systems, projects, or daily operations, including communication to non-technical audiences
  • Experience identifying alternatives to address complex IT-related issues by gathering and applying information from various sources
  • Experience analyzing, testing, evaluating, and maintaining Juniper, Cisco, and Palo-Alto Routers, Switches, Firewalls, F5 Load Balancers, and DNS Bind
  • Experience configuring network hardware, troubleshooting connectivity issues, monitoring network performance, managing user access, and implementing network policies and security procedures

Qualifications

  • At least one year of experience demonstrating competencies for immediate success at the GG-12 level, including analyzing, testing, evaluating, and maintaining Juniper, Cisco, and Palo-Alto Routers, Switches, Firewalls, F5 Load Balancers, and DNS Bind. Experience also includes configuring network hardware such as routers and switches, troubleshooting connectivity issues, monitoring network performance, managing user access, and implementing and enforcing network policies and security procedures.
