About This Role

This role involves supporting Information Systems Security Engineering and Operations, ensuring appropriate operational security posture for information systems, and maintaining security documentation.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day security operations of large, complicated information and information processing systems
• Prepare and maintain Security System Plans (SSPs) and other security related documentation
• Propose, coordinate, implement, and enforce information systems security policies, standards, and methodologies
• Perform security evaluations of software systems or architectures to ensure they meet security requirements
• Apply principles of NIST 800-53 including Risk Management Framework (RMF)
• Support continuous monitoring of networks to detect and correct security non-compliance and unmitigated vulnerabilities
• Perform regular audits of information systems
• Assist the Information Systems Security Manager in preparing information systems for periodic reaccreditation

Requirements

• TS/SCI clearance w/ active polygraph
• US Citizen
• Experience as an ISSO/ISSE with emphasis on Defense-in-Depth principles, network, and enterprise security architecture
• Experience applying the principles of the NIST 800-53 including the procedures in the Risk Management Framework (RMF)
• Familiarity with STE/STN requirements
• Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with several current security tools, hardware/software security implementation, communication protocols, encryption techniques/tools
• Experience completing security evaluations of software systems or architectures to ensure they meet security requirements
• Experience preparing and maintaining SSPs and other security related documentation
• Experience proposing, coordinating, implementing, and enforcing information systems security policies, standards, and methodologies
• Demonstrated experience performing day-to-day security operations of large, complicated information and information processing systems

Qualifications

• Minimum of High School Diploma
• Minimum of 6 years of experience, with 2 years in the last 5 directly related to Information Systems Security Engineering / Operations.

Nice to Have

• DoD 8570 compliance with IASAE Level 2 or 3
• Information Systems Security Engineering Professional (ISSEP) Certification
• Computer Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) Certification
