This role involves conducting face-to-face emergency assessments for individuals in crisis, determining appropriate treatment options, and providing crisis intervention and brief counseling for individuals seeking acute mental health attention. This position is crucial for safeguarding the well-being of clients within the community services framework.
Responsibilities
- Complete intakes and assessments on individuals referred for mental health or substance abuse services
- Assure individuals follow through with recommended services through follow-up calls and letters
- Participate in treatment team meetings with psychiatrists and other service team members
- Provide face-to-face and telephone crisis intervention and brief crisis counseling
- Conduct hospital pre-admission screening
- Conduct face-to-face pre-hospitalization screening, securing psychiatric bed space as appropriate
- Provide diagnostic evaluations and assessments to determine level of treatment and/or referrals to other community-based services
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Psychology
- LPC, LCSW, LCP or Licensed Eligible
- Valid Driver's License
