This Infrastructure Engineer role involves planning, designing, assembling, and overseeing program systems for a federal government client. The position supports both Operations & Maintenance (O&M) and new development efforts, focusing on improving system performance and guiding engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Assess existing cloud resources, determine necessary changes to improve system performance, and make recommendations
- Provide guidance to engineers and developers based on best practices to ensure infrastructure supports fluctuating demands
- Work with government IT operations and other teams to develop strategies and action plans for implementing upgrades and integrations to program applications
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship
- Ability to obtain a public trust clearance
- 8+ years of relevant experience in an Enterprise IT environment (or 10+ without a Bachelor's)
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Excellent active listening skills
- Ability to discuss technical issues with non-technical, executive-level government officials
- Ability to problem-solve and develop solutions to complex business needs
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 8+ years of relevant experience in an Enterprise IT environment with a Bachelor's degree, or 10+ years without a Bachelor's Degree.

- AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional
- Experience with DevSecOps pipeline tools (configuration management, JIRA, automated testing, CI/CD, blue green deployments, branching strategy)
- Experience designing and implementing Cloud-based AWS solutions
- Applying The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) in Agile solution designs
- Experience designing logical and network diagrams
- Experience migrating applications from AWS Commercial Cloud to FedRamp Approved Gov Cloud
- Experience outlining evaluation benchmarks for system performance assessments
- Experience implementing technical architecture standards based on industry best practices
- Experience engaging stakeholders, understanding their needs, and translating to minimum viable product
- Providing advice to project teams around technical solutions, best practices, and efficiencies
- Reviewing environments to detect deficiencies, recommending, planning, and implementing solutions for improvement
- Providing leadership for strategic planning or complex problem solving for programs and projects
- Performing functional allocation to identify required tasks and their interrelationships
- Leading the development, implementation of robust, quantitative technology evaluation processes
- Documenting performance criteria and testing strategies, quantifying results, trade-offs and recommendations
- Reviewing design documents to ensure industry and Government standards compliance
- Presenting architecture design documents to the client and revising based on client feedback
- Maintaining awareness and expertise of latest cloud and infrastructure, orchestration, and automation visualization technologies
- Interacting and collaborating with specialists to successfully migrate applications and data to the cloud
- Driving innovation and improving performance of the applications in scope
- Providing recommendations and implementing ways to modernize technology
