This role is primarily responsible for estimating, acquiring, and managing industrial mechanical contracting and steel fabrication projects. The role ensures project delivery by coordinating with the team, overseeing onsite functions, and managing financial and documentation requirements.
Responsibilities
- Estimate and acquire orders from customers and prospects to fill available and future capacity for GSM Industrial operations
- Oversee mechanical contracting, industrial steel fabrication, and installation needs for accounts
- Establish new accounts with assistance from Business Development
- Develop long-lasting, successful business relationships with new and existing accounts
- Calculate estimated costs of material, labor, equipment, and contract services for customer needs
- Complete and/or delegate documentation requirements and lead kick-off meetings for project specifications
- Take ownership of the scope of work and communicate information with project team members
- Order project related field materials and non-fabricated parts
- Coordinate field / shop / shipping activities with office and administrative duties
- Work collaboratively with the project superintendent, providing leadership for construction alignment with design, budget, and schedule
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise onsite functions, including scheduling, engineering, and material control
- Assure timely completion and submission of payment applications and follow-up on payment process
- Review and oversee distribution of all project documents (drawings, addendums, RFIs)
- Demonstrate understanding of and enforce OSHA/MSHA regulations and safety practices
- Oversee the quality process throughout the project, ensuring adherence to standards
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years in industrial mechanical estimating or related field
- Knowledge of industrial maintenance, rigging, piping, safe access, structural steel, machine install and ducting
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and material specifications
- Project management skills

- Intermediate mathematical skills
- Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify opportunities and provide solutions

Qualifications
- Minimum five years in this or a related field OR equivalent combination of training and experience
