Serve as a trusted partner to clients, providing compliance-driven HR recommendations and services aligned with federal, state, and local laws. This role involves independent decision-making on employee relations, policy analysis, and designing tailored HR solutions.
Responsibilities
- Provide guidance to clients on wage and hour laws, employee relations, and compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws
- Independently interpret and apply labor laws (e.g., FMLA, CFRA, ADA, FEHA, PDL) to ensure legal compliance in HR policies and decisions
- Conduct HR audits and risk assessments for clients, identifying non-compliance areas and implementing corrective actions
- Manage complex employee relations matters, including workplace investigations, disciplinary actions, and performance improvement plans
- Develop, revise, and implement customized HR policies, procedures, and handbooks for clients
- Conduct wage and benefit surveys to determine competitive wage rates for clients
- Partner with clients to develop workforce planning strategies, including succession planning and organizational design
- Design and deliver training programs for managers and employees on critical HR topics
- Lead client onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring best practices and compliance standards
- Lead employee classification reviews for FLSA and California wage & hour compliance
Requirements
- Minimum 3-5 years of generalist human resource experience with an emphasis in employee relations and labor law
- Ability to independently interpret and apply state and federal labor laws
- Tech savvy, strong proficiency in MS Suite of products
- Experience with HRIS or other equivalent HR/payroll systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3-5 years of generalist human resource experience with an emphasis in employee relations and labor law, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
