About This Role

Serve as a trusted partner to clients, providing compliance-driven HR recommendations and services aligned with federal, state, and local laws. This role involves independent decision-making on employee relations, policy analysis, and designing tailored HR solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance to clients on wage and hour laws, employee relations, and compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws
  • Independently interpret and apply labor laws (e.g., FMLA, CFRA, ADA, FEHA, PDL) to ensure legal compliance in HR policies and decisions
  • Conduct HR audits and risk assessments for clients, identifying non-compliance areas and implementing corrective actions
  • Manage complex employee relations matters, including workplace investigations, disciplinary actions, and performance improvement plans
  • Develop, revise, and implement customized HR policies, procedures, and handbooks for clients
  • Conduct wage and benefit surveys to determine competitive wage rates for clients
  • Partner with clients to develop workforce planning strategies, including succession planning and organizational design
  • Design and deliver training programs for managers and employees on critical HR topics
  • Lead client onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring best practices and compliance standards
  • Lead employee classification reviews for FLSA and California wage & hour compliance

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years of generalist human resource experience with an emphasis in employee relations and labor law
  • Ability to independently interpret and apply state and federal labor laws
  • Tech savvy, strong proficiency in MS Suite of products
  • Experience with HRIS or other equivalent HR/payroll systems

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3-5 years of generalist human resource experience with an emphasis in employee relations and labor law, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3-5 years of generalist human resource experience with an emphasis in employee relations and labor law

Nice to Have

  • PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP certification
