Housekeeping Steward/Janitorial - Day Shift

About This Role

This role is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of Catholic Charities properties, assisting with various tasks from cleaning to special maintenance projects, and ensuring a safe, presentable environment for those served by the organization.

Responsibilities

• Report to Housekeeping Management team for work assignments
• Clean interior and exterior of Catholic Charities properties
• Assist Property or Maintenance Departments with special projects including moving, painting, deep cleaning, floor care, carpet cleaning, furniture building, or yard work
• Report cleaning needs not assigned to supervisors
• Report repairs or damaged items to supervisors
• Protect confidential information, company property, and electronic data
• Comply with safety rules

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of work experience in housekeeping/janitorial
• Excellent oral communication skills
• Basic reading skills
• Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
• Ability to perform housekeeping/janitorial/utility/porter duties
• Ability to obtain OSHA 10 certification within designated timeframe
• Ability to obtain nonslip shoes within 2 weeks from first pay period

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent education, or combination of education and experience
• Minimum of two years of work experience in housekeeping/janitorial

Nice to Have

• Ability to learn and utilize housekeeping software
• Ability to operate gas powered equipment
