The Household Coordinator is responsible for ensuring a safe and clean living environment, managing household operations, and providing support for residents with intellectual/developmental disabilities and behavioral health challenges in community-based homes.
Responsibilities
- Ensure a safe and clean living environment for residents through daily housekeeping
- Provide daily cooking and menu planning according to the dietary needs of the residents and complete food shopping
- Conduct fire drills and building inspections, providing appropriate documentation
- Review household and vehicles for proper upkeep and complete documentation
- Order and anticipate supplies for the home as needed
- Exercise sound judgment and make appropriate programmatic decisions
- Complete all appropriate documentation, including monthly summaries and maintenance records
- Advocate for residents with outside social service agencies and interface with families
- Plan and implement community integration plans for residents
- Administer medications as directed by physician after certification
- Assist Program Specialists with training consumers in self-care activities such as personal hygiene, cooking, and housekeeping
- Provide routine health care functions like obtaining vital signs and glucometer readings
- Escort residents to and from appointments as needed
- Perform CPR and crisis intervention techniques using agency-trained protocols
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalency
- Current, valid driver's license in state of residence
- Minimum of two (2) years of driving experience within the United States
- Acceptable driving record
- Ability to perform CPR and crisis intervention techniques using agency-trained protocols
- Excellent customer interaction, collaboration, presentation, and written and verbal communication skills
- Basic experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook)
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalency required; Associates degree in Human Services preferred
- One year experience in the behavioral health or forensic field preferred
