As a Hotel Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and directing the preparation of food, ensuring proper food handling, and maintaining sanitation standards to deliver high-quality service to guests. This role supports the culinary operations of the hotel and contributes to guest satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Prepare or direct preparation of food served using established production procedures
- Determine amount and type of food and supplies required using production systems
- Ensure availability of supplies and food or approved substitutions in adequate time for preparation
- Learn menus, recipes, preparation, and presentation
- Comply with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene, and health standards
- Store food properly and safely, marking date and item
- Correctly prepare all food served following standard recipes and special diet orders
- Plan food production to coordinate with meal serving hours for quality, temperature, and appearance
- Maintain daily production records
- Complete food temperature checks before service
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year experience cooking at restaurant or full service hotel
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred; Culinary school 2-4 year degree preferred
