About This Role

The Hospital Development Specialist acts as a donation consultant, developing and implementing strategies to enhance organ and tissue donation within hospitals across New Jersey. This role involves on-site support for donation processes, collaborating with hospital staff, and driving continuous performance improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop strategic professional relationships with key donor hospital staff, including senior leadership
  • Make on-site visits for referrals/cases to develop relationships and facilitate the donation process
  • Provide real-time consultation and identify solutions for significant issues encountered during the donation process
  • Assess hospital needs and develop tailored service plans to improve donor services awareness, education, and quality
  • Schedule and conduct strategically designed educational programs to improve donation outcomes
  • Implement and track best practices to ensure continuous performance improvement and maximize donation outcomes
  • Present data and information on donation to hospital committee meetings
  • Coordinate and implement continuing educational initiatives to ensure current knowledge of donor processes and regulatory environments
  • Consult with hospital senior leaders/administration to ensure compliance with regulations and developments in the donor process
  • Maintain current documentation of key hospital staff, policies, procedures, and educational program information

Requirements

  • Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work and meet deadlines
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • Strong word processing, database, and presentation software skills
  • Valid driver's license and access to an automobile

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a health-related or marketing field preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Entry level with previous sales/marketing experience in healthcare desired

Nice to Have

  • Previous sales/marketing experience in a healthcare-related field
  • Thorough knowledge of hospital protocol
