About This Role

This Homemaker position involves performing general household tasks and personal care for individuals requiring assistance due to advanced age, infirmity, physical conditions, or mental impairments. The role focuses on maintaining a safe and sanitary living environment and providing essential support.

Responsibilities

• Teach and provide home management skills to the client
• Prepare meals for the client
• Provide general cleaning of client’s home, including washing and drying dishes, floor care, dusting, and other general household cleaning
• Wash, dry, and iron client’s laundry if needed
• Perform other miscellaneous duties to provide a safe and sanitary living environment for the client

Requirements

• Ability to complete and pass a background check
• Working knowledge of first aid procedures
• Knowledge of nutritional and preparation of foods
• Skill in performing homemaking and home health aide assignments
• Skill in communicating with elderly people
• Ability to assist with general household tasks such as bed making, dish washing, laundry/ironing, and planning and preparing nutritional meals
• Ability to perform job duties independently with limited supervision
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all times regarding client’s information
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Ability to interact with individuals with a range of moods, attitudes and behaviors
• Ability to demonstration a professional level of integrity and positive attitude at all times
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
• Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other employees, Community officials and the general public
• Ability to perform all physical requirements of the position: light lifting, bending, stooping, reaching and carrying

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in providing homecare services or related work, or equivalent combination of experience and training
