About This Role

Provide companionship and support to residents as a non-licensed member of the healthcare team, working under the direction of a nurse. Duties include light housekeeping, meal preparation, running errands, and assisting with activities to enhance the client's well-being.

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship for the resident/client
• Accompany the resident/client to appointments or on outings
• Prepare and serve meals to the client (feeding is not permitted)
• Report any unusual incidents or changes in the client’s behavior or condition to the supervisor
• Provide pet care including walking, feeding, watering, and cleaning litter boxes/bird cages
• Maintain the client’s living area in an optimum state of cleanliness and safety
• Provide assistance to residents requiring lifting, pushing, and balancing up to 25 pounds
• Perform casual cosmetic assistance (e.g., brushing hair, assisting with make-up, filing and polishing nails)
• Stabilize the client when walking by holding their arm or hand
• Shop/pick up prescriptions as needed
• Provide light housekeeping
• Assist client with packing when necessary
• Submit time tickets within 24 hours of provided service
• Attend required in-services and training

Requirements

• Ability to pass Level 2 background screening through the Florida Clearinghouse
• Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate in English
• Flexible with scheduling hours and capable of maintaining regular attendance
• Meet all local health regulations and pass a pre-employment and subsequent routine physical exam, drug screen and background check
• Adherence to agency safety and infection control practices
• Dependable transportation and ability to use own vehicle for work travel
