Home and Fashion Buyer

About This Role

This role is responsible for owning and scaling brand partnerships within the home and fashion categories, focusing on sourcing high-quality products, meeting financial and assortment goals, and driving new product categories across subscription box and e-commerce channels. It is a critical position that combines merchandising, buying, and partnership development to deliver joy and discovery to a community through curated products and experiences.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage tier 1 and tier 2 home and fashion brand partnerships, introducing new product categories for the subscription box while driving quality and value for members
• Buy products according to the line plan, meeting financial goals for e-commerce (margin, SKU productivity, revenue) and subscription box programs (cost benchmarks, Q score, awareness targets) while maintaining balanced assortments
• Develop and execute strategic, focused assortments that support both member needs and business objectives
• Drive insights by partnering with cross-functional teams and using data to influence category-wide strategies aligned with divisional initiatives
• Execute deals by working closely with operations, legal, marketing, production, planning, and merchandising strategy teams
• Conduct competitive marketplace analysis to identify and assess new business opportunities, including attending seasonal markets and trade shows
• Lead post-season and hindsight analyses to surface learnings and identify actionable opportunities for future growth

Requirements

• 4+ years of buying or merchandising experience in a traditional retail environment (subscription or off-price models preferred)
• Experience managing 50+ active brand conversations simultaneously
• Strong negotiation skills with experience managing orders from PO placement through transportation and on-time delivery
• Established network and relationships within the home or fashion brand ecosystem
• Proven ability to manage open-to-buy (OTB) and consistently meet financial targets
• Outstanding communication and presentation skills
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with a track record of meeting deadlines
• Advanced Excel skills and strong retail math capabilities

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Merchandising, Business, Communications, or a related field
• 4+ years of buying or merchandising experience in a traditional retail environment (subscription or off-price models preferred)
