High School Science Teacher

About This Role

Deliver specific course content in an online environment as a remote high school science teacher. Provide instruction, support, and guidance to students while managing the learning process and focusing on individual needs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver specific course content in an online environment
• Provide instruction, support, and guidance to students
• Manage the learning process for students
• Focus on students’ individual needs
• Monitor student progress through Stride K12’s learning management system
• Work closely with students and parents/learning coaches to advance student learning
• Travel occasionally for school functions like state testing
• Provide rich and engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences
• Differentiate instruction based on student level of mastery
• Maintain grade book and alert administrators to concerns about student performance
• Prepare students for high stakes standardized tests
• Establish and maintain positive rapport with families and communicate regularly
• Support learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic troubleshooting issues
• Travel for face-to-face professional development and student testing

Requirements

• Ability to clear required background check
• Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data, and use it to drive instructional decisions
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint
• Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms

• Experience working with proposed age group
• Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology
• Experience teaching in an online (virtual) and/or in a brick-and-mortar environment
• Experience with online learning platforms
