About This Role

The High School Principal serves as the instructional leader and chief administrator of Hood River Valley High School. This role is critical for ensuring an equitable education for all students, celebrating diversity, and addressing disparities in achievement and opportunity. The Principal directs and administers educational programs, student supports, and manages personnel, finances, and community relations for the school.

Responsibilities

Serve as the instructional leader and Chief Administrator of the high school
Ensure an equitable education for all students
Foster a school environment where diversity is celebrated
Address disparities in achievement and opportunity
Implement and adhere to all federal, state, and district policies, regulations, and procedures
Direct and administer all educational programs and activities, including student supports, curriculum development, and program evaluation
Manage personnel, financial resources, emergency procedures, and facilities operations
Contribute to and maintain a positive school climate and community relations
Work collaboratively with the district office leadership team to advance the HRCSD Strategic Plan

Requirements

Demonstrated expertise in educational programs, curriculum, pedagogy, professional development, and culturally sustaining instructional strategies
Directly related administrative experience in a high school leadership role
Ability to lead collaboratively
Ability to support and promote diversity
Ability to foster a student-centered approach leading to student engagement and success
Ability to create and maintain an emotionally healthy and physically safe school culture
Strong communication and relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications

Demonstrated expertise in educational programs, curriculum, pedagogy, professional development, and culturally sustaining instructional strategies, along with directly related administrative experience in a high school leadership role.
