High School Assistant Track Coach

About This Role

Support the head coach in developing and maintaining a successful high school track program for Wray School District, ensuring adherence to policies and promoting a positive athletic environment for student-athletes.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Wray School District RD-2 policies, CHSAA, and league rules
• Maintain CHSAA coaching certification, First Aid/CPR certification, and any relevant teaching licenses
• Support the head coach in developing and implementing daily written practice plans
• Assist the head coach in managing care, inventory, and storage of equipment
• Assist with facility preparation and maintenance as needed
• Provide total supervision of athletes before, during, and after practices or activities, ensuring safety and discipline
• Maintain regular communication with the head coach
• Promote and support all Wray School District programs and adhere to administrative decisions
• Follow the chain of command as outlined in the coaching handbook
• Attend sport-specific coaching clinics and maintain recommended CHSCA membership
• Lock and secure athletic facilities nightly
• Participate in post-season equipment/uniform check-in
• Tidy up the area used for practice or training and ensure all equipment is put up and stowed away in its proper place

Requirements

• CHSAA coaching certification or teaching license
• Current First Aid/CPR certification
• Strong leadership and organizational skills
• Commitment to fostering a positive and professional athletic environment
