Head of Solutions Engineering

About This Role

Lead, mentor, and scale a team of Solutions Engineers to bridge Scale's AI technology with U.S. government critical mission sets. You will define and execute the technical strategy for the Public Sector business and partner with Federal Engineering and Product teams to refine the federal product roadmap.

Responsibilities

• Hire, mentor, and grow a high-performing Public Sector Solutions Engineering team, including designing career paths and compensation models.
• Define the technical Go-to-Market strategy for the Public Sector, deploying resources to close new business and expand Scale's footprint within government agencies.
• Prioritize and develop product demonstrations for high-stakes meetings with government executives and technical analysts.
• Partner with Federal Engineering and Product leadership to deliver customer pilots according to mission requirements.
• Represent Scale’s platform and technology capabilities at major industry events, executive briefings, and ecosystem forums.
• Design, develop, and maintain playbooks, demos, and tools for executing successful pilots in secure environments.
• Leverage deep technical expertise in AI/ML, Computer Vision, and geospatial data to bridge complex mission requirements with Scale’s product capabilities.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in Solutions Engineering or Technical Consulting with leadership experience.
• Strong engineering background, preferably in Computer Science, Mathematics, or other quantitative fields.
• Proficiency in Python or Javascript.
• Deep understanding of federal mission sets, strategic objectives, and challenges of deploying software in government environments.
• Active Top Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Strong engineering background, preferably in Computer Science, Mathematics, or other quantitative fields.
• 8+ years of experience in Solutions Engineering or Technical Consulting, with significant time spent in a leadership capacity managing teams.

Nice to Have

• Prior experience scaling technical teams during periods of rapid growth or within a consumption-based developer platform.
