Head of Collections

About This Role

Lead and manage the Collections and Recoveries function for YouLend's US operations, focusing on increasing collection rates while maintaining excellent customer support. This role involves managing a growing team of collectors and optimizing relationships with debt purchasing partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Collections and Recoveries function
• Ensure team members deliver excellent customer support and meet functional objectives
• Continuously improve team efficiency through performance management and incentives
• Execute operational activities related to debt recovery and debt sales
• Monitor, analyze, and report on key performance indicators to improve collection performance
• Build relationships with external service providers to ensure effective post-default recovery efforts
• Work cross-functionally with Finance, Capital Markets, and Credit Risk teams
• Liaise with the Head of Sales and Head of Credit Decisions as part of the operational leadership team
• Collaborate with the tech team to automate and standardize existing processes
• Contribute views on continuous process improvement

Requirements

• Proven experience in a collections or debt recovery role
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to effectively manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Comfortable adapting to change and embracing bold ideas
• Intellectually curious
• Facts-based problem solver with a get-things-done mentality
• Strong use of Excel or any data analysis software
• Successful track record of delivering against ambitious targets
• Exceptional oral and written communication, listening, and presentation skills
