About This Role

Supervise and ensure the safety of the Aquatic Center in Onalaska, WI, providing attentive and courteous behavior while enforcing rules and managing staff. This seasonal, limited-term position works under the Aquatic Center Specialist and helps maintain the facility's operations.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the Aquatic Center in the absence of the Aquatic Specialist
  • Assist Aquatic Specialist in completing reports and related paperwork
  • Manage staff rotation and breaks
  • Supervise Lifeguards and assign responsibilities
  • Report staff issues to the Aquatic Specialist
  • Be trained on and knowledgeable of facility emergency action plans (EAPs)
  • Maintain the chemical and filtration equipment under the direction of the Aquatic Specialist
  • Monitor water clarity and report to Aquatic Specialist
  • Enforce Aquatic Center rules and regulations
  • Handle citizen requests, questions, and complaints
  • Supervise the collection, accounting, and deposit of all monies received at the Aquatic Center
  • Develop and conduct weekly in-service training with staff
  • Plan and lead staff training including CPR, first aid, swimming skills, and emergency action plans

Requirements

  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current certification in CPR
  • Current certification in First Aid
  • Current American Red Cross Lifeguard training certification
  • Must work with little or no supervision
  • Good communication and organizational skills

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous Supervisory Experience At An Aquatic Facility Preferred.

  • Previous Supervisory Experience At An Aquatic Facility

Certifications

CPR (Required) First Aid (Required) American Red Cross Lifeguard training (Required)
