Head Lifeguard

About This Role

This role assists the Recreation Supervisor and Beach Manager in overseeing lifeguard staff, cashiers, and the overall operation and maintenance of the swimming area and related facilities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise swimming activities at the facility ensuring policies and safety procedures are followed.
• Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude while providing high standards of customer service.
• Supervise and maintain the safe use of swimming, boating, and beach areas.
• Perform and direct water rescue maneuvers and first aid.
• Direct and perform maintenance of the beach, bathhouse, comfort stations, and picnic shelters.
• Supervise and record the collection of fees.
• Prepare and maintain activity reports, incident logs, rescue records, and timekeeping.
• Perform Lifeguard evaluations and maintain other required records.
• Direct and record in-service drills.
• Perform and/or assist in park maintenance.
• Assist at other lakes/beaches as needed.

• Effectively deal with employees and the general public
• Ability to handle stressful situations
• Good physical condition

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience at the Lifeguard level or equivalent.

Nice to Have

• Current instructor certification in Lifeguard Training and/or Water Safety
