Supervise 2nd shift operations of a hatchery, monitoring daily activities, formulating improvement strategies, and managing chick delivery and incubation equipment. This role involves overseeing personnel and ensuring efficient movement of chicks to farms.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the operations of a specific hatchery
- Monitor day-to-day activities and formulate strategies for future improvement
- Complete chick delivery sheets, flock pull sheets, and mortality charts
- Maintain logs on each truck, including miles and hours worked by each driver
- Ensure movement of chicks to farms according to shipment schedule
- Monitor incubation and hatchery equipment, as well as environmental control equipment
- Oversee chick delivery and pick-up
- Supervise personnel on a daily basis
- Grade fleets of eggs from hen farms
- Prepare vaccines to be given to the chickens
Requirements
- Animal Welfare Check (required)
Qualifications
- Education beyond high school including special training, vocational school, and/or college courses
- 2 years of supervisory experience preferred
