Hatchery Maintenance Mechanic

About This Role

The Hatchery Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the upkeep and preventative maintenance of all hatchery equipment to ensure continuous operation.

Responsibilities

• Keep all hatchery equipment running efficiently
• Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment
• Unstop drains and replace light fixtures
• Recam setters and maintain generators
• Service chillers and replace wheels on farm racks and hatcher dollies
• Address and repair any equipment requiring attention

Requirements

• Dependable
• Ability to bend, squat, and lift approximately 50 lbs
• Ability to work in temperatures up to 100 degrees in setters
• Ability to climb a ladder with 15 lbs weight
• Electrical knowledge, including wiring, motors, light fixtures, running conduit, replacing motors, and working with electronic control boards
• Ability to climb stairs onto the roof monthly to clean filters, wash A/C units, and make repairs
