Hardware Engineering Manager

About This Role

Lead and manage a hardware development team, overseeing the design, development, and delivery of high-quality hardware products for medical devices. Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance throughout the product development lifecycle for a global healthcare company.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical leader for development projects
• Lead and manage a team of hardware and electrical engineers, providing mentorship and guidance
• Manage application support initiatives such as hardware compatibility and custom product requests
• Define project goals, objectives, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with company and customer requirements
• Responsible for project schedules and documentation of work and results including KPIs
• Drive the hardware development process, including concept development, schematic design, PCB layout, prototyping and testing
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, such as software engineering, manufacturing, and product management
• Set clear expectations, assign tasks, and prioritize workloads to optimize team productivity and efficiency
• Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and high-quality standards within the hardware engineering team

Requirements

• Minimum five years’ experience as an Engineering Manager
• Experience with project management
• Experience working with software teams cross-functionally
• Familiarity with hardware design principles, including digital and analog circuitry, schematic capture, PCB layout, and Design For Manufacturing (DFM)
• Familiarity with design input quality tools (e.g. QFD, Design FMEA, DFA/m, VA/VE)
• Familiarity with hardware design and analysis tools, such as SolidWorks, Altium or similar
• Familiarity with product certification processes and standards (e.g., UL, CE)

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or related field
• Minimum five years’ experience as an Engineering Manager
