Lead and manage hardscape and landscape projects from planning to completion, ensuring high-quality installation and jobsite standards. This role involves leading a crew, training members, and coordinating daily production for a premium residential design-build landscaping company.
Responsibilities
- Own jobs from planning through completion, breaking scope into executable phases, sequencing work, and delivering projects to company standards
- Perform landscape and hardscape installation work, troubleshoot construction challenges, and train crew members on proper techniques
- Build, lead, and train your crew, setting expectations, addressing performance issues directly, and developing reliable team members
- Plan and direct daily production, assigning tasks, managing tools/equipment staging, and adapting workflow to site conditions and weather
- Coordinate short-term field needs, tracking and communicating upcoming materials/tool needs to the project manager
- Maintain jobsite quality and safety, ensuring correct installation methods within target tolerances, clean and organized sites, and consistent safety standards
- Communicate clearly with management, providing progress updates, flagging risks/scope issues, and any expected schedule impacts
Requirements
- 1-2+ years in foreman or crew lead role
- Demonstrated ability to manage crews and jobsite standards
- Proven hardscape & landscape installation experience
- Equipment operation (including loader/skid steer and excavator)
- Ability to read plans and execute work to specifications
- Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work in varied weather conditions
- Punctuality and dependability
- Strong planning and organization skills
- High standards for crew performance, workmanship and jobsite
- Comfortable giving direct feedback and addressing performance issues
- Clean driving record
Qualifications
- 1-2+ years in a foreman or crew lead role
