About This Role

Lead an independent and innovative research program in immunology as a Group Leader (Principal Investigator-equivalent) at Biohub New York. Uncover fundamental principles of the immune system to inform disease prevention and cure, fostering collaboration across biology, computation, and engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Lead an innovative, rigorous, and highly collaborative research program aligned with the mission of CZ Biohub NY
  • Develop a transformative research vision and provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members
  • Play a key role in collaborative efforts to engineer immune cells to detect, prevent, and cure organ-specific diseased states
  • Engage with colleagues throughout the Biohub to uphold values of scholarly excellence, innovation, and collaboration
  • Communicate progress and results with colleagues and the leadership team
  • Publish and disseminate impactful findings as preprints and/or software repositories
  • Collaborate with the CZ Biohub team to patent and license technologies resulting from research

Requirements

  • PhD or MD or equivalent degree in immunology or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years post-doctoral experience with a strong foundation in immunology
  • Innovative research plan aimed at revealing fundamental principles that govern the immune system
  • Demonstrated publication track record in top tier journals on topics related to the scientific goals of this position
  • Demonstrated leadership, track record of innovation, and ability to work collaboratively
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to open science and highly aligned with the mission and values of Biohub

Qualifications

  • Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree in immunology or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years post-doctoral experience with a strong foundation in immunology

Nice to Have

  • Supervisory or mentoring experience (for more senior candidates)
