Grounds Worker III - North Point Concrete

About This Role

Perform a variety of duties related to the construction, installation, and repair of concrete structures and paving, as well as the repair of masonry structures for Baltimore County Public Schools.

Responsibilities

• Direct and instruct concrete personnel in the proper use and care of assigned trucks, tools, and equipment
• Set up and operate a variety of automotive and construction equipment, tools, and construction materials
• Excavate, break out, and remove existing concrete; haul material and debris; grade and prepare sub-grade and base for concrete
• Set forms and reinforce steel; place and finish concrete; set posts, goals, and play equipment in concrete footings
• Construct and maintain barriers; mix concrete and/or mortar and repair masonry structures
• Operate equipment such as tractors, front-end loaders, backhoes, concrete saws, and paving breakers
• Perform duties related to fencing footer installation, mow tables, player benches/pads, and grounds maintenance and construction work
• Participate in snow removal and other emergency events, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Estimate time and materials required for projects; order and plan for material delivery; keep records and prepare reports

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years experience in construction and excavation
• 1+ year experience in concrete work

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Two years' experience in construction and excavation, plus one year experience in concrete work.
