Grain Operations Manager

About This Role

This role directs all grain operations for a grain elevator, including maintenance, cleanliness, quality control, and sales of various agricultural products. The manager will supervise full and part-time employees, manage customer interactions, and optimize cooperative efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Direct all operations, maintenance, cleanliness, and product quality control for grain elevator
• Manage sales of feed, petroleum, and assist with seed and anhydrous Ammonia sales
• Supervise all full and part time employees
• Weigh all incoming and outgoing grain trucks
• Make grain settlements with customers
• Optimize the cooperative’s efficiency and achieve mission goals
• Provide outstanding customer service
• Maintain a positive attitude that promotes teamwork and a favorable cooperative image
• Complete special projects as assigned by area manager

Requirements

• Operational knowledge of corn, wheat, beans, milo, and sunflowers properties
• Operational knowledge of Point of Sale and Point of Scale software
• Accuracy and detail orientation
• Operational knowledge of all machinery in elevator
• Ability to make minor repairs and conduct scheduled maintenance on equipment
• Good working knowledge of seed, feed, petroleum and ammonia
• Computer and data entry skills
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply common scientific, technical, and legal journals
• Ability to respond cordially to inquiries or complaints
• Ability to write and log information, produce reports, and verbally communicate with location manager
