Graduate Apprenticeship, Trainee Quantity Surveyor

About This Role

This role offers an excellent opportunity to start a career in construction and quantity surveying within Springfield Properties PLC's Commercial team in Elgin. The Trainee Quantity Surveyor will gain hands-on experience and exposure to a wide range of commercial activities.

Responsibilities

• Support the preparation of cost plans, valuations, and commercial reports
• Assist with sub-contractor payment applications, measurement, and verification of work completed
• Help to monitor project budgets, costs, and variations under the guidance of Quantity Surveyors
• Participate in site visits to support measurement, progress monitoring, and reporting
• Maintain accurate records of contracts, invoices, and correspondence
• Assist with procurement and tender processes for sub-contractors and suppliers
• Learn and apply commercial, contractual, and health & safety requirements

Requirements

• Working towards a construction or quantity surveying qualification OR educated to SCQF level 6 with a strong interest in Quantity Surveying
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Methodical worker with natural problem-solving ability
• Excellent IT skills and proficient in Microsoft packages

Qualifications

• Construction or quantity surveying qualification (or similar level of education)
