Serve as a local representative for GO Tutor Corps, building awareness and generating partnership opportunities within designated communities to close achievement gaps and strengthen educational opportunities for economically disadvantaged students.
Responsibilities
- Attend local education-related events, staffing information tables to engage stakeholders
- Share GO Tutor Corps' mission, program model, and partnership opportunities
- Distribute materials and answer general questions about the organization
- Identify and track relevant community events, nonprofit gatherings, and educational forums
- Collect contact information from interested district leaders, principals, and decision-makers
- Document conversations and pass qualified leads to the VP of Partnerships for follow-up
- Serve as local eyes and ears on district priorities, budget cycles, and partnership receptivity
- Organize small-scale informational sessions or coffee chats with local educators (optional)
- Coordinate attendance at district-hosted community events (optional)
- Submit biweekly reports documenting events attended, contacts made, and partnership intelligence
- Participate in biweekly check-ins with the Director of Partnerships
Requirements
- Deep familiarity with local education landscape (current or former educators, Fellows, or active community members strongly preferred)
- Passion for GO Tutor Corps' mission
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Self-directed and proactive in identifying community engagement opportunities
- Reliable transportation to attend local events
- Availability for evening and occasional weekend events
Nice to Have
- Current or former GO Tutor Corps Fellow
- Existing relationships with local schools, districts, or nonprofits
- Experience in community organizing, outreach, or sales
- Knowledge of Title I schools and high-need districts in the area
