About This Role

Serve as a local representative for GO Tutor Corps, building awareness and generating partnership opportunities within designated communities to close achievement gaps and strengthen educational opportunities for economically disadvantaged students.

Responsibilities

  • Attend local education-related events, staffing information tables to engage stakeholders
  • Share GO Tutor Corps' mission, program model, and partnership opportunities
  • Distribute materials and answer general questions about the organization
  • Identify and track relevant community events, nonprofit gatherings, and educational forums
  • Collect contact information from interested district leaders, principals, and decision-makers
  • Document conversations and pass qualified leads to the VP of Partnerships for follow-up
  • Serve as local eyes and ears on district priorities, budget cycles, and partnership receptivity
  • Organize small-scale informational sessions or coffee chats with local educators (optional)
  • Coordinate attendance at district-hosted community events (optional)
  • Submit biweekly reports documenting events attended, contacts made, and partnership intelligence
  • Participate in biweekly check-ins with the Director of Partnerships

Requirements

  • Deep familiarity with local education landscape (current or former educators, Fellows, or active community members strongly preferred)
  • Passion for GO Tutor Corps' mission
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Self-directed and proactive in identifying community engagement opportunities
  • Reliable transportation to attend local events
  • Availability for evening and occasional weekend events

Nice to Have

  • Current or former GO Tutor Corps Fellow
  • Existing relationships with local schools, districts, or nonprofits
  • Experience in community organizing, outreach, or sales
  • Knowledge of Title I schools and high-need districts in the area
