General Supply Specialist

About This Role

This role involves managing inventory transactions, ensuring accuracy of supply documents, resolving discrepancies, and monitoring inventory records within the Defense Logistics Agency.

Responsibilities

• Ensure inventory transactions relating to gains, losses, receipts, and issues are processed
• Ensure asset balances are updated for item status (issuable, blocked/suspended)
• Research and validate inventory data, certifying accuracy of supply documents
• Serve as the primary point of contact for monitoring inventory and related actions
• Resolve inventory problems and coordinate solutions for trends and transaction discrepancies
• Perform inventory reconciliation activities, including investigating discrepancies and initiating comparisons
• Initiate periodic inventory reconciliation for non-accountable locations and resolve major accounting problems
• Monitor inventory records and actions at assigned locations
• Research and analyze accounts to identify discrepancies, determine corrective action, and provide guidance
• Resolve complex discrepant returns (product quality, supply, transportation)

Requirements

• U.S. citizen
• Ability to obtain Non-Critical Sensitive security clearance
• Registered or exempt from Selective Service requirement (males born after 12-31-59)
• REAL ID or other acceptable identification to access federal facilities

Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent at GS-09 level; Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree at GS-11 level
• Specialized experience is required at various GS levels, with GS-12 requiring experience at the GS-11 level or equivalent.
