Gas/Diesel Technician

About This Role

Perform diagnostic tests and repairs on diesel vehicles to identify and fix faults, ensuring compliance with engine safety and pollution control regulations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain records of services for clients and the company
• Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil and checking batteries
• Install emissions control systems in accordance with pollution control regulations
• Operate hydraulic jacks or hoists to safely raise and lower vehicles and other equipment
• Uphold engine safety standards in accordance with federal and state vehicle requirements
• Inspect diesel vehicles and identify issues through diagnostic tests, test drives, physical examinations, and visual inspections
• Perform diagnostic tests on diesel vehicles to find faults
• Analyze diagnostic test results
• Repair or replace engine, steering, transmission, braking or lighting system components

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 2 years of Fleet or Dealership experience preferred.

Nice to Have

• ASE certification
• CDL certification
• 2 years of Fleet or Dealership experience
