Perform customer service field support for gas operations, including non-contact orders, line locating, and leak surveys. This role requires operating and maintaining company vehicles and specialized tools.
Responsibilities
- Perform non-contact customer service orders, line locating, and leak surveys
- Drive and maintain company vehicles
- Load, unload, and operate tools and equipment such as wrenches, pliers, meters, regulators, and combustible gas indicators
- Assist with pipeline locating using conductive, inductive, and mark by measurement techniques
- Complete line locating procedures and maintain compliance with OKIE 811 law
- Turn gas service off, remove meters, and install electronic reader transmitters (ERTs)
- Inspect, calibrate, maintain, and repair leakage survey tools and equipment
- Patrol and maintain pipeline markers
- Complete encroachment investigations
- Investigate non-contact customer related orders
- Complete and update equipment maintenance reports, mileage reports, time sheets, GIS applications, gas leak reports, and work logs
- Maintain records including orders completed, miles driven, customer information, leak record information, maintenance work orders, and meter inventory
- Install, program, and troubleshoot electronic reader transmitters (ERTs)
- Perform and assist with leakage surveys on pipelines
Requirements
- Working knowledge and training related to disconnects and gas piping
- Demonstrated ability in use, function, and maintenance of tools applicable to position
- Experience with basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
- Working knowledge of locating gas lines
- Working knowledge of transmission and distribution pipeline system operations
- Working knowledge of leakage survey procedures
- Working knowledge and training relative to customer service and safety procedures
- Working knowledge of customer service emergency procedures
- Working knowledge of use of electronic communications and Pragma
- Working knowledge of CAD system (where applicable)
- Working knowledge of characteristics of natural gas
- Experience and knowledge of basic computer usage and applicable computer software
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret maps, blueprints, plats, atlas pages, pipe sizing tables, flow charts, house numbers, dials, gauges, work logs, service orders, and applicable operation and repair manuals
- Demonstrated ability to read and write fluently in English
- Ability to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to climb ladders; stoop, kneel, and crawl
- Ability to react immediately to emergency situations
- Ability to smell odorant in natural gas
- Ability to operate tools and equipment required
- Ability to travel over uneven terrain
- Ability to walk, stand, kneel/stoop, and drive for extended periods
- Ability to push spud bar in ground and extract
