About This Role

The Funding Specialist is responsible for preparing and distributing funds to settlement agents and warehouse banks in a dynamic environment, adapting to business demands during the closing process.

Responsibilities

  • Review loan documentation and collateral files for accuracy prior to funding
  • Verify accuracy of data between documents and Benchmark’s systems
  • Review documents from settlement agents and authorize delivery of funds
  • Prepare and deliver loan files to warehouse banks
  • Register loans on the Mortgage Electronic Registration System (MERS)

Requirements

  • 3 years mortgage experience
  • 1 year funding experience
  • Knowledge of fund authorization and disbursement
  • Highly detail-oriented
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Strong communication skills
  • Efficient with MS Office and PDF

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Some college preferred.
  • Three years mortgage experience required. One year funding experience required.
